We loved the show, it was great... but we found a nonsense to be stamped before we enter the room. This looks like going to some underground rotten rap place...
ReplyDeleteCaetano was more than incredible, the sound was great, and the venue was beautiful. A wonderful experience.
ReplyDeleteAn unforgettable evening! He was sublime!
ReplyDeleteBest concert in a long, long time. In his 70's, Caetano seemed to be enjoying every single minute of the show, very well surrounded by the young band. You can see he was happy while playing, singing the new songs and going back to some of his oldest stuff, which sounds as new. Like the amazing "Nine out of ten", from 1972 --oh, and the great surprise at the end of Arto Lindsay. Great night!
ReplyDeleteIt was so magical and wonderful to hear him and reaize that he is as significant, contemporary, and relevant now as in any other time in his career. He is a poet that chooses music to echo his heart. My favorite part might have been 3/4 into the concert and we, the audience, rose from our seats and gave him a long and sustained applause with shouts and screams of love. He had been on stage singing and sharing his love for us and we were doing the same for him and for a few moments instead of sitting and absorbing his art we were able to join him and he joined us and we were together gleefully in a place we both so much wanted to be.Tonight he was as great as I have ever seen him. 23 years ago we named our first son, Caetano, in his honor.

It was amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and amazing concert! Caetano Veloso is an incredible singer.
ReplyDeleteGreat show! Amazing musician! I have seen in BAM only few other Brazilian singers (Daniela Mercury, Gal Costa & Bebel Gilberto). BAM must bring more Brazilian artists !!!
ReplyDeleteThis artist must be an acquired taste. Banal, insipid, and musically-uninteresting pop love songs for two hours? Begging the question what's "Next" Wave about the show?
ReplyDeleteobviously you do not understand anything about music, art and poetry
DeleteI think you may have published your comment on the wrong page. The "Next Wave" show at BAM wasn't this one. This show was awesome. Too bad you missed it.
DeleteIt was beautiful, powerful, loving, "maravilloso" once again Caetano share with his public his creativity, he takes risks, he explores, he is an innovator, amazing!! for mhe is with doubt the greatest artist of Brazil, the show at BAM was exquisite, technically perfect. The musicians were amazed, Caetano is surrounded by such young talents, bravo Caetano, bravo BAM
ReplyDeleteAmazing performance. Please bring him back as soon as possible. A treasure to listen to. Memorable for a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteI have insufficient superlatives. Days later my mood is still elevated.
ReplyDeleteI have always been wanted to see Caetano Veloso, especially after getting married with my Spanish husband who has seen him in Brazil and deeply astonished by him. The Saturday performance at BAM swooped me away with his talent and beautiful voice, his energy and wit, his humor and charms, although to be honest the music was quite unexpected, it was almost too simple and I kind of miss the poetic quality of his lyrics. But the sound and lighting was well done, thank you, BAM. Still a memory to keep, because he is in his 70's and he was happily performing in those 2 hours, plus magnificent encore!
ReplyDeleteThe concert was amazing. My husband and I travelled 3.5 hours just to see him. I simply adore Caetano. Please bring him back.
ReplyDeleteAstounding performance by a legend, in an intimate, beautiful venue. One of the greatest concerts I've ever had the pleasure to attend, and I can only hope BAM will bring Caetano Veloso back for an encore.
