Last night, Vesturport Theatre and Reykjavik City Theatre returned to BAM with Faust: A Love Story,  an acrobatic and aerial re-imagining of Goethe's classic tale that takes the meaning of "daredevil" to new heights. BAM members from the Sustainer level and above were invited to celebrate the opening with the artists in the Campbell Lobby of the BAM Harvey Theater where the revelry continued into the night.

Director Gísli Örn Gardarsson warmly expressed his excitement to be back at BAM (Vesturport has brought two other productions to the Next Wave Festival: Metamorphosis in 2011 and Woyzeck in 2008) as guests enjoyed a dangerously delicious menu of devils on horseback, jalapeño poppers, deviled eggs, and devil's food cake.

Great Performances provided the devil-themed hors d'oeuvres for the reception, and we applaud anyone who was brave enough to try the jalapeños! Brooklyn Gin created a fitting specialty cocktail: The Mephistopheles, and Fleurs Bella wowed everyone with a beautifully imaginative decor.

This reception was the last of the 30th Next Wave season, but be sure to check out our other fabulous member events for the Spring here!
