A Portrait of Pina (in 35 Objects)

We stay excited about Pina Bausch around here, so we’ve used the show “… como el musguito en la piedra, ay si, si, si …” as an excuse to come up with a list of 35 objects that evoke her and her work, and asked illustrator Nathan Gelgud to draw them—portraiture by association. What did we leave out?

Nathan Gelgud is an illustrator who lives in Brooklyn.

  1. Left out dried pasta – Spaghetti, a Fur Coat, Toe Shoes stuffed w/raw meat, a Perfume Atomizer….and all those wonderful side glances, stares and look of total delight in the expressions of her dances having FUN.
